IEC Standards
(IEC: International Electrotechnical Commission)

IEC is an organization founded in 1908 that administers and coordinates the standardization system in the fields of electricity and electronics. The headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland. Japan is one of the members. There is an international system called the CB Scheme which was established to evaluate electrical and electronic products. The CB Scheme conducts safety tests based on the IEC Standards to prove conformity. This simplifies the certification process in individual countries.
