Traditionally, an entire screen used to be captured by the CCD and transferred to the controller as shown in the figure below. The CV-2000 series (Keyence) saves transferring time by just capturing necessary images for inspection. In the following example, the processing time was shortened by almost 13 minutes by capturing only 90 lines.
Entire image capturing
Partial image capturing (90 lines)
Capturing time: 16.7ms
Capturing time: 4ms
Camera Shift/Span Adjustment Function
This function not only brightens or darkens the captured image as a whole, but also creates a clearly contrasting image by darkening dark images and brightening bright images. By adjusting the camera's span and shift, an optimum image of the inspection object can be obtained, allowing accurate inspections.
Camera Sensitivity
Brightness of an image can be adjusted without using lighting and lenses. (9 stages)
Shift
This brightens or darkens the entire image signal of the CCD. Unlike camera sensitivity, a certain tone can be uniformly blackened or whitened.
Span
This enlarges or evens out the tone changes of the CCD. The difference in brightness is emphasized in order to create a clearer image.
Initial value
After adjustment
Camera sensitivity: 3.0 shift: 000 span: 1,000
Camera sensitivity: 5.0 shift: -40 span: 2,000
Position adjustment
When the position of the set window is fixed on the screen, accurate detection cannot be performed when the target position deviates. This function detects the position in the X- and Y-axis directions and the rotational angle of the target. It then adjusts the window position based on the deviations from the reference position. This allows for stable detection.
The status in the window is detected after detection of the reference position. Therefore, erroneous detection does not occur due to target position deviation, as long as the reference image and inspection window are present within the monitor screen.
Illumination adjustment
This function corrects the brightness of the entire screen to prevent erroneous detection, even if the ambient light condition changes due to aging of the illumination device or any other cause. When a stable area is specified as the "illumination range" on the monitor screen, the entire screen is subjected to illumination adjustment according to the change in the brightness of the specified range.
